The APWA Florida Chapter West Coast Branch “Ed Burkett” Scholarships is named after one of APWA’s long-standing members and an advocate for education, Ed Burkett, CBI, KCA’s Executive Senior Vice President, who has been with KCA since its conception in 1976. The West Coast Branch “Ed Burkett” Scholarship Program is designed to assist individuals who are pursuing a career in the public works field. Encompassing disciplines from engineering to public administration, or continuing education for career enhancement of public agency employees is the philosophy of the Association. This assistance in education promotes and ensures a continuation of the high level of skill, talent, and professionalism that is the pride of every member. Every year APWA hosts a golf tournament as a fundraiser for the Ed Burkett Scholarship fund at Heritage Harbor Golf and Country Club in Lutz.
