Why did you decide to become an engineer?
I have always enjoyed solving problems involving numerical solutions. Creative thinking combined with technical development was also a key factor in my decision to pursue an engineering career.
What does your daughter think you do at work?
My dad designs and models awesome bridges. Also, he makes sure that the existing bridges can still be used and are safe for people.
Describe how you inspire your daughter’s future or act as a role model for her.
I inspired my daughter to become an engineer by talking a lot with her about my job and about how to resolve problems and being creative to help others. Her interest in engineering became more and more consistent, so she started to take CAD courses and more advanced math classes. She even designed bridges and towers at school, and she loved it! Seeing me doing what I do and how my work makes a difference instilled in her an important and solid interest that made her decide to pursue an engineering career.
