KCCS was selected by FDOT District Two to provide CEI services for the milling and resurfacing of a grouping of three projects: SR 55/US 19 Resurfacing (Cross City to Old Town); SR 49 Resurfacing (SR 55 to Gilchrist County Line); and SR 49/US 129 Resurfacing (Levy County Line to End of Curb and Gutter). This $1.27 million CEI contract will involve a combined 18.157 miles of milling and resurfacing through both urban and rural areas.
SR 55 Resurfacing (437619-1)
This 7.672-mile-long project consists of milling and resurfacing a four-lane divided highway with cross slope and superelevation corrections. The Phase IV Plans also indicate regular and borrow excavation, optional base, widening, structural and friction course asphalt, concrete end walls, removal and replacement of concrete driveway, signing, thermoplastic pavement markings (standard, preformed, and profiled), prepared soil layer, and performance turf. The project has a planned let date of 10/31/18 with a duration of 290 days.
SR 49 Resurfacing (437620-1)
This 2.758-mile-long milling and resurfacing project consists of a 2.013-mile, two-lane rural section that transitions into a 0.745-mile, four-lane urban section. Other project aspects shown in the Phase IV Plans include borrow excavation, optional base, structural and friction course asphalt, concrete curb ramps, manhole and valve box adjustments, signing, thermoplastic pavement markings (standard, preformed, and profiled), pedestrian and vehicular signalization, prepared soil layer, and performance turf. The estimated project duration is 120 days with an anticipated let date of 12/5/18.
SR 49 Resurfacing (437621-1)
This 7.727-mile-long project consists primarily of rural milling and resurfacing. The Phase III Plans indicate this project also contains Type B stabilization, optional base, structural and friction course asphalt, performance turf, thermoplastic pavement markings, signing, and mailboxes. This project has a planned let date of 10/31/18 with an estimated duration of 180 days.
