Hillsborough County Intersection Improvements Contract Win!
Owner: Hillsborough County
KCA Selected to Design Various Intersection Improvements Throughout Hillsborough County!
KCA received great news on October 18 when it was selected by Hillsborough County to evaluate various intersections throughout the County to reach a decision on the feasibility, operability, and conceptual design. Phase 1 will consist of a preliminary engineering report (PER) for each intersection, and final design, post-design, and project closeout services will be provided in Phase 2. The KCA team will ensure our conceptual designs meet the County’s Vision Statement (provide enhanced intersections with improved safety, mobility, and congestion relief through a context and environmentally sensitive design, which is supported by community and key project stakeholders). KCA will evaluate and design improvements for CR 579 at Old Hillsborough Avenue and Pruett Road; Palm River Road at 50th Street and US 301; and Falkenburg Road at Broadway and Woodberry Road.
KCA’s involvement in the County’s Transportation Task Force (TTF) Program provides an unmatched familiarity with the process by which the intersections will be evaluated and designed. KCA spearheaded the County’s original validation and prioritization of the intersections called the “Intersection Program Management Information Systems” (IPMIS). The win adds another design project to KCA’s already impressive intersection improvements project experience portfolio.
Congratulations to the pursuit team including Chris Meares, PE, Project Manager; Fathy Abdalla, Ph.D., PE, PTOE; Deborah Hernández-Cedeño, PE; Wes Wright, EI; and several others from KCA departments. A big thanks to all that helped with the preparation of the proposal, presentation, and the marketing efforts that contributed to this win!
