KCA recently received good news when it was selected to provide structural design services for the Mosquito Creek and Tubby’s Creek Bridge Replacement Local Agency Program (LAP) Project for Monroe County. The win marks yet another bridge project win for Monroe County and KCA Project Manager, Jason LaBarbera, PE.
The project consists of replacing both the Tubby’s Creek Mosquito Creek Bridges in Monroe County as part of an FDOT District Six LAP project. The KCA team will be providing bridge and roadway design, bridge hydraulic analysis, coastal analysis including wave force analysis, surface drainage design, maintenance of traffic (MOT), PD&E coordination, all environmental/permitting services, and LAP coordination through District Six.
The KCA team is comprised of Archaeological Consultants, Inc. (cultural resources); INTERA, Inc. (coastal engineering/bridge hydraulics); Intertek PSI Solutions (contamination and hazardous materials surveys); Manuel G. Vera & Associates, Inc. (surveying/mapping, subsurface utility engineering [SUE], utility coordination); and Tierra South Florida, Inc. (geotechnical and materials testing services).
Leading KCA’s proposed team is Mr. LaBarbera, who has worked closely with Monroe County engineers for more than 11 years on multiple bridge projects. He has served as PM and Engineer-of-Record (EOR) on many bridge replacement, bridge rehabilitation, and bridge strengthening projects for the County. Deputy PM is Austin Black, PE, who also serves as Structures Design EOR, and Principal-in-Charge, Guillermo Madriz, PE.
