KCA was selected by Monroe County to provide engineering design and permitting services for the Garrison Bight Bridge Repair project.
The Garrison Bight Bridge, a 177-foot-long pre-stressed concrete bridge, was constructed in 1965 and serves as one of the main commuting routes into the City of Key West. This FDOT Local Agency Program (LAP) project consists of concrete spall repair on the deck, railings, beams, bent caps and seawall, pile jacket installation, substructure metalizing, deck sealing, expansion joint repair, and fender system repair. In addition, the road base and asphalt will be repaired on approximately 1700 feet of approach roadway. The KCA team will provide structures and roadway design, bridge inspection, environmental/permitting, surveying/mapping and SUE, and geotechnical services.
Congrats to the entire team including Jason LaBarbera, PE, Project Manager; Deborah Hernández-Cedeño, PE; Darren Brandes, PE; Robert Whitman; and all others who helped with the preparation of this proposal and the marketing efforts that contributed to this win!
