KCCS Nets City of Plant City CEI Win
KCCS, Inc., received good news on September 17 after being selected for the Turkey Creek Road Project Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Services contract for the City of Plant City. This win signifies the first-ever KCCS contract win with the City and gives KCCS a new client in the Central Florida CEI market.
KCCS will be providing professional CEI services to the City for the reconstruction and widening of Turkey Creek Road from Sydney Road to just south of SR 574 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and widening of 950 feet along the north side of Sydney Road east of Turkey Creek Road. Improvements include rural widening of two-lane Turkey Creek Road (1.2 miles) to provide a center two-way, left-turn lane and 5-foot-wide paved shoulders; reconstructing Turkey Creek Road with a three-lane urban (curb and gutter) section; 4-foot-wide bicycle lanes on the northern end (0.2 miles); and widening two-lane Sydney Road to include a westbound-to-northbound right-turn lane and merge.
KCCS will be teaming with Echezabal & Associates, Inc. (survey) and MC Squared, Inc. (geotechnical and laboratory testing materials services) for this contract.
The KCCS team is led by Project Manager (PM) and Senior Project Engineer (SPE), John Hayes, PE, who has 35 years of construction and CEI experience including construction project administration, consultant contract administration, and the management of a FDOT construction office at Bartow Operations. Stoney Morgado, who has 20 years of experience in all phases of roadway and bridge construction projects, will serve as Project Administrator (PA) and CEI Project Resident Engineer. Andrew King (Senior Inspector/Senior Engineer Intern) and Jeff Cole (Contract Support Specialist [CSS] and Utility Coordinator) round out Mr. Hayes’ core staff for this project.
