KCA was selected by Lee County for the Ortiz Ave. Widening from SR 884 (Colonial Blvd.) to SR 82 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) project!
KCA will perform design and permitting services for the improvements to Ortiz Ave. from Colonial Blvd. to SR 82 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.), which is a 1.7-mile corridor consisting of a two-lane undivided urban arterial. This project involves widening Ortiz Ave. from two to four lanes since the roadway serves as a relief facility to I-75 during periods of heavy congestion. Plans will include roadway transitions from the existing and/or planned roadway typical sections to the new roadway typical section approaching the SR 884 and SR 82 intersections as well as transitions to the Hanson Street roundabout. KCA will design the four-lane facility with a future six-lane widening in mind and design the widening within the County’s existing right-of-way (R/W). KCA will be responsible for roadway and structures design, TTC, environmental and planning, traffic/signals/S&PM/lighting, and construction phase services (KCCS).
