KCA was Selected by NCDOT for the US 70 from SR 2372 (Edwards Road) to the US 70 Goldsboro Bypass project!
KCA was selected by NCDOT to design improvements to US 70 between SR 2372 (Edwards Road) and the US 70 Goldsboro Bypass in the Goldsboro Metropolitan area. US 70 is a four-lane highway, classified as an Other Principal Arterial, and an important regional facility connecting many municipalities throughout eastern North Carolina. This project will improve regional mobility and provide better connectivity between Raleigh and Morehead City. After analyzing the previous feasibility study and traffic/crash data, KCA plans to upgrade the existing roadway to a freeway facility and realign Luby Smith and Ebenezer Church Roads. KCA’s concept (Accelerated Project Process) will accelerate the project delivery by utilizing the feasibility study to narrow alternatives and will overlap the planning and design phases to save additional time.
Congrats to the entire project team including Debbie Barbour, PE, Project Manager; Sam Cullum, PE; Tom Shaw, PE; and John Mazeres, PE; as well as several others from KCA departments. A big thanks to all that helped with the preparation of this major proposal and the marketing efforts that contributed to this win!
