This project consists of replacing the existing Anna Maria Island bridge with a high-level structure. The proposed bridge section over Anna Maria Sound consist of two 12-foot travel lanes and two 11-foot shoulders. The typical section also includes a 10-foot sidewalk along both north and south end of the bridge.
The proposed high-level structure consists of 19 spans of 165-foot 9 ½-inches for an overall bridge length of approximately 3,150 feet. The superstructure includes an 8.5-inch concrete deck with seven Florida I-Beam 84 supported on end bents and hammer head piers. Mudline footings are utilized with 24-inch prestressed concrete piles. KCA is the Structures Engineer-of-Record.
