KCA environmental scientists developed environmental BMP guidelines to be used by community planners and local governments in determining when and under what circumstances the FDOT will consider installation of wildlife crossings. In developing these BMPs, KCA scientists collected extensive data on the effects of roadways on wildlife movement, developed draft and final guidelines, and coordinated with the FDOT SEMO offices, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
