Structures Department Promotions
There have been recent promotions in KCA’s Structures Department for Jason LaBarbera, PE and Alfredo Layrisse, PE.
Jason LaBarbera, PE, has been promoted to Deputy Structures Department Manager. Mr. LaBarbera received his Civil Engineering Degree from the University of South Florida in 2001. He has been with KCA for 16 years and has managed several projects during this time. Currently he is serving as the Project Manager (PM) and Engineer-of-Record (EOR) for the Maydell Drive Bridge Replacement for Hillsborough County. He is also overseeing four ongoing bridge replacements for Monroe County, and serves as the structures EOR for the reconstruction of the US 27/SR 60 interchange for FDOT District One. He will be assisting Guillermo Madriz, PE, in the management of KCA’s Tampa Bridge Group.
Alfredo Layrisse, PE, has been promoted to KCA’s Chief Structures Engineer in our Tampa office. Mr. Layrisse earned his Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from University of Florida and most recently served as a Senior Engineer. He has 22 years of experience and has been with KCA for nine years. His experience includes work on three cable stayed bridges and a suspension bridge. Mr. Layrisse supervised the Independent Peer Review of all the complex bridges on the I-4 Ultimate project, which entails a complete independent analysis of the bridges using a separate software package. He is the EOR for the substructure design on the D/B Pinellas Bayway Structure E Bridge Replacement and the Independent Peer Review Engineer of the Howard Frankland Bridge Replacement Design-Build. One of his first tasks will be to lead KCA’s transition into next generation software tools for structural analysis, design, and CAD production.
