KCA recently received exciting news when it was selected to provide bridge and structure repair, rehabilitation, and preservation design services for the South Carolina Department of Transportation’s (SCDOT) Statewide Bridge Preventative Maintenance – Engineering and Design Services contract. The significant win marks KCA’s first ever SCDOT contract, enabling our firm to break into a new target market.
For this task-based contract, the KCA team will provide bridge and structural design and analysis, emergency response, field surveys, utility and railroad coordination, hydrology and hydraulic design, geotechnical investigation and design, lead and asbestos assessment, public involvement, environmental documentation, permitting, load rating, traffic analysis and design, construction support services, right-of-way coordination, and other related services.
Leading KCA’s proposed team is Sam Cullum, PE (Contract Manager), who has worked in structures design, repair, and bridge inspection for all of his 17-year career. He will be supported by four Project Managers: Jacob Duke, PE, CBI; Diego Aguirre, Ph.D., PE; Scott Betz, PE, CBI; and Patrick Mulhearn, PE, as well as Task Leaders for each discipline.
