KCA was selected for NCDOT’s 2018 Hydraulics Support Services contract!
Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) received good news on July 26 after being selected for the 2018 Hydraulics Support Services – Limited Services Contract (LSC) for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). This win signifies yet another NCDOT contract win for KCA and marks an opportunity to provide services for a new market within NCDOT’s Hydraulics Unit.
KCA was selected as a prime consultant in Tier I and Tier II Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design. KCA will be providing services for various highway drainage tasks including but not limited to design of stormsewer, ditches, and pipe cross drains; drainage investigations; outfall analysis; bridge and culvert sizing over streams using both Tier I and Tier II; working with FEMA coordination and approval and HEC-Ras; and evaluating stream scour and migration. Plans review may also be a part of the scope of services.
The KCA team is led by Project Manager (PM) Sam Cullum, PE, and Technical Leads Ali Tayebnejad, PE, and Tara Spieler, PE. Mr. Cullum has 14 years of experience in transportation engineering and has been managing continuing services contracts for KCA for the last eight years in addition to starting KCA’s Raleigh design office two years ago. Mr. Cullum is the PM on KCA’s Bridge Replacement Planning and Design Contract with the SMU and a Deputy PM for our Division Planning and Design and GESCs in Divisions 1, 4, and 11. He has led many multidisciplinary design projects as the PM including close and constant coordination with hydraulics and stormwater drainage designs, bridge replacements. Mr. Tayebnejad has participated in the drainage design of numerous transportation design projects and produced BHRs, location hydraulic reports (LHRs), PSRs, conceptual drainage designs, and conducted coordination activities with FEMA, water management districts, and environmental regulatory agencies. Ms. Spieler has an extensive background in geology and civil engineering, with considerable knowledge of both surface and groundwater flow systems. She has performed stormwater design and permitting for various municipalities, private clients, and FDOT. Tara has completed PSRs, BHRs, scour evaluations, and designed stormdrain systems, and pond sites.
