Able Canal Multi-Use Trail LAP
This Local Agency Program (LAP)-funded project included the design and permitting of approximately 6 miles of shared-use path along the Able Canal in Lehigh Acres, FL. This important project will provide convenient and safe non-motorized access between numerous residential areas and civic destinations in an area that lacks pedestrian facilities. The project also includes design of a pedestrian bridge over the Charlie Diversion Canal. The KCA team managed the permitting of this project and guided Lee County through environmental reevaluation process through the Office of Environmental Management. The project also included close coordination between stakeholders Lee County, LA-MSID (Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District), and County Parks and Recreation.
