Alico Road Connector

Under this contract, KCA developed a traffic forecast and prepared the Alico Road Extension Project Traffic Analysis Report (including an innovative continuous flow intersection and continuous green T-intersection.) Alico Road is going from a 2 lane to a 4 way roadway. The Alico Road Connector was developed as a roadway from Alico Road to SR 82 that relieves traffic and improves the level of mobility in the area while preserving the high-quality surrounding environment for the community. One of the primary constraints was the need to minimize impacts to the environment by maintaining habitat connectivity and minimizing habitat fragmentation. The Alico Road Connector is part of an overall solution to improve transportation by helping to alleviate traffic on the adjacent roadway networks. This connector will not only provide much needed additional capacity, but it will also provide a more direct connection to the east Lee County area and will promote land use improvements throughout the corridor.
