North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP), Segment 3C-3, TXDOT Houston
KCA is currently providing bridge design and 3D modelling services on I-10 Max EB and WB over White Oak Bayou (WOB). The two bridges consist of three-span curved steel I-girders and a single 122-foot prestressed beam girder. The I-10 Max WB WOB bridge is 825 feet long with steel spans of 216.5 feet, 270 feet, 216.5 feet, and a 42 feet, 5-inch-wide deck with two 12-foot lanes and a 12-foot and 4-foot shoulder. The I-10 Max EB WOB bridge is 778 long with steel spans of 205 feet, 247, feet, 205 feet, and a 40-foot, 5-inch-wide deck with two 12-foot lanes and a 10-foot, 4-inch shoulder. The substructures utilize single column bents supported on footings with drilled shafts as well as a concrete straddle bent over the I-10 Max WB ramp.
