SR 70 from Lorraine Road to CR 675/Waterbury Road SWAT

Development of this project will use the FDOT Statewide Accelerated Transformation (SWAT) process, which will reduce duplicate efforts between project development and environmental (PD&E) and design. This project involves providing PD&E and design services for SR 70 from Lorraine Road to CR 675 (Waterbury Road) in Manatee County. This project’s purpose is to increase capacity and improve safety on SR 70, which is a two-lane undivided roadway classified as an urban principal arterial–other from Lorraine Road to mile post 10.439 and rural principal arterial–other eastward to beyond CR 675. KCA will design two four-lane typical sections within the corridor. A suburban section from Lorraine Road to Del Webb Boulevard, and a rural section from Del Webb Boulevard to CR 675. This project also involves roundabout design for seven intersections. The KCA team will provide PD&E/National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), roadway and structures design, drainage/permitting, environmental, signing and pavement marking (S&PM)/traffic/signalization, temporary traffic control (TTC), public involvement, utility coordination/subsurface utility engineering (SUE), geotechnical/contamination, noise analysis, surveying, and right-of-way (R/W) mapping services.
