KCA provided Lead CEI Technicians under the Statewide On-Call contract for this $99.2 million D/B project, which received a Grand Award in the national 2021 ACEC engineering excellence awards competition. The project consisted of grade changes with pavement reconstruction, redesigning entrance and exit ramps, replacing nine vehicular bridges and two pedestrian bridges, lengthening acceleration and deceleration lanes between ramps, widening existing roadway shoulders and adding new shoulders, building portions of a multi-use path from Lockland Avenue to Liberty Street, and renaming all of the US 421/Business 40 to Salem Parkway. KCA also inspected several signal installations, fiber-optic installations and intersection change outs including I-40 Business (Salem Parkway).
